Bengaluru blasts: Areas that were hit

It has become clear that the serial blasts in Bengaluru were carried out to create a scare. With due respect to those who lost their lives and were injured in the blasts, the people of Bengaluru could consider themselves lucky as the blasts were of low intensity in nature.

Had the blasts been of higher intensity, the unimaginable would have happened and the number of people who would have been killed much more than one could imagine. Let us take a look at the areas, which were attacked on Friday.

Adugodi-Koramangala: Two blasts occurred in this area. The important installations around this area are the famous Christ College, Forum Mall, St Johns Hospital and the Institute of Animal Husbandary and Veterinary Sciences. The important IT companies in these locations are Infosys, Wipro, Bosch, Symphony, Ness, Oracle, Vodafone, Satyam, Cisco, IBM and HP.

Madiwala: This area which was the second to be attacked is an extremely busy area and could be considered as the capital of traffic jams. This area houses a large mall known as the Total Mall, the Karnataka State Reserve Police battalion and the Forensic Sciences Laboratory.

Mallya Hospital (Richmond Road): This is a high profile area in Bengaluru and has a couple of important installations around it. Apart from the Mallya Hospital itself, it also houses the UB City and the Kanteerva Stadium. Apart from this the area also has several apartments.

Langford Road: Apart from housing several apartments, the St Josephs College and Sun Microsystems are in the vicinity of this area.

Nayandahalli: This area falls on the Mysore Road and houses certain important installations. The Gopalan Mall which is usually flooded with people, R V College, Bangalore University, Rajarajeshwari Dental College and also the bus stand.
