Jaipur blasts toll 68

A woman, who sustained splinter injuries in the serial blasts in Jaipur, succumbed to wounds at a hospital, taking the toll in the explosions to 68.

Forty-five-year-old Ashma, who hailed from Surat in Gujarat, had come on a short tour of the Pink City when she was caught up in the blast, Additional District Magistrate, Jaipur city, Mukul Sharma said.

She died at a hospital in Jaipur on Monday night.

Of these deaths, one Vijay Telani had succumbed to injuries at his residence late last month, while all other 67 deaths were reported in various hospitals, Sharma said.

The body was handed over to her relatives after autopsy on Tuesday morning, he said, adding her husband would be paid an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh.

Of this toll, seven bodies were still unclaimed, Sharma said.
