Bihar: 2 more cases filed against Raj Thackeray

Two more cases have been filed in Bihar against the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray at different places, police sources said in Patna on Friday.

The cases were filed in Patna and Hajipur, district headquarters of Vaishali, against Raj Thackeray for assaulting Hindi speaking students in Mumbai on Sunday.

One complaint was filed in the court of the chief judicial magistrate, Patna, on Thursday evening.

The complainant Keshav Kumar said that he has filed the complaint under Sections 295 A, 114, 115, 124 A, 153 A, 153 B, 308, 500 and 506 of the IPC.

Raj Thackeray was charged for instigated his party workers to disturb peace and harmony among citizens of the two states to gain political mileage in Maharashtra.

"Raj Thackeray's utterancesĀ have posed a serious threat to the country's unity and integrity," the complainant said. He requested the court that Raj Thackeray be sued for violating Article 19 A of the Constitution.

A Dalit youth Raj Kumar Choudhary, who was one of the hundreds of students from Bihar assaulted by MNS activists in Mumbai, lodged a complaint against Raj Thackeray and other 22 unidentified MNS activists with the Gorul police station in Hajipur on Thursday.

Vaishali Superintendent of Police Paras Nath told rediff.com that Choudhary's complaint was forwarded to the Mumbai police commissioner for instituting a case against Raj Thackeray and others.

Raj Thackeray was charged of instigating a mob to attack Choudhary and others in Mumbai.

Police sources said the complaint has merit to be lodged under the section of SC/ST Atrocity Act as the complainant belonged to the Schedule Caste and was attacked and beaten up in which his hands had fractured.

Earlier, two cases were filed in Patna and Muzaffarpur against Raj Thackeray. The first case was filed on Tuesday by some students, who arrived in Patna from Mumbai after being beaten by MNS workers. The government railway police at Patna railway station lodged a case against Raj Thackeray and his supporters for assaulting the students.

The second case was filed in Muzaffarpur district. A lawyer had filed the case against Thackeray charging him with instigating MNS workers to beat up Bihari examinees.
