Pre-departure orientation in Mumbai, Delhi for US-bound students

What: Students planning to attend university in the United States are invited to attend a pre-departure orientation programme in Mumbai and Delhi on July 2 and 10 respectively. Organised, by the United States -- India Educational Foundation, the programme is designed for students leaving for the US in Fall 2009.

In Mumbai
The day-long programme, to be held at Centrum, Centre 1 World Trade Center, on July 2, begins at 9 am and will cover every aspect of settling in the US -- ranging from what to pack before you leave, entry into the US, campus life, academic life, socio cultural issues to specific information on banking, telephone connectivity and travel.

US Consul General Paul Folmsbee will address the students. A panel comprising Fulbright scholars, consular officers, and Indian students will also address the audience on all aspects of studying in the US. The programme offers small group discussion sessions for closer interaction with the panelists. The session will provide opportunities for students to network with others who are leaving this fall.

In Delhi
The afternoon pre-departure orientation session will be held at the American Center on Friday, July 10 from 1:30-5:30 pm.  The evening programme will commence at 6:30 pm at Fulbright House, 12, Hailey Road. The US Ambassador will attend the evening event. Recent US returnees will share their life-changing experience. Live music, lucky draws and American snacks are some of the attractions of the event.
