Women's prayers have finally been answered -- underwear that reduces cellulite and improves body shape has gone on sale in the UK.
A new range of lingerie, called the Bio-Fir Anti-Cellulite, is going on sale at John Lewis stores.
The range is said to be "scientifically proven to significantly reduce cellulite and encourage inch loss in under 30 days".
Tests on 50 women found that 82 percent who wore the shapewear, as it is called, for six hours every day for 30 days recorded "significant inch loss and cellulite reduction".
However, doctor Mike Smith told Sky News Online: "There are many suggested alternative approaches to dealing with cellulite -- but I have yet to see one that works and one that stands up to scientific scrutiny."
Helen Spencer, lingerie buyer at John Lewis, said: "We are approached very regularly with products promising the kind of results women want but which haven't stood up to scrutiny."
"This is where this range is different -- it does exactly what it says on the tin."
The revolutionary garment's makers claim active bio-crystals contained within the yarn emit heat energy rays which stimulate cell metabolism, improving blood flow.
This, in turn, stimulates the body's lymphatic drainage system -- melting away the subcutaneous fat layer and toxins responsible for cellulite into liquid that can be excreted.
However, any improvement in the skin's appearance is temporary.
Smith said: "Often merely a better diet and more exercise will improve the look of the skin by reducing excessive weight."
