What: Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the admission to First Year of Five Year Degree Course in Architecture for the academic year 2009-2010 in Government, Government-aided, University Departments and Un-aided Institutes (who have given consent to participate in CAP) approved by AICTE/COA in Maharashtra State.

Eligibility criteria for appearing to MAH-AR-CAT 2009
Candidates should be Indian Nationals and must have passed the HSC (Std XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as the subject at HSC or Diploma (10+3 Level) or its equivalent examination and secured minimum 50 per cent aggregate marks (45 per cent aggregate marks for backward class category candidates from Maharashtra State only).

Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State Candidate, J&K Migrant candidate, GoI nominee Candidate for admission to first year of degree course in Architecture through CAP

Candidates should have obtained minimum 40 per cent marks ie 80 marks out of 200 (minimum 35 per cent marks ie 70 marks out of 200 in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra state only) at MAH-AR-CAT 2009.

Eligibility criteria for Admission to AIEEE Seats in Unaided Architecture Institutes

The Candidate must have passed AIEEE 2009 (Paper 2) Examination [both Maharashtra & OMS] with minimum 40 per cent Marks in paper 2 are required to fill the online application form, take print out and send it for conformation to The Principal, Sir JJ College of Architecture, 78/3, DN0 Road, (Near CST Railway Station) Mumbai 400 001. Such candidates will be considered eligible for centralised admission process only after confirmation of application form.

Scheme of CAT Examination
The MAH-AR-CAT-2009 examination will consist of one common question paper of maximum 200 marks in the subjects of Aesthetic Sensitivity (100 marks) and Drawing (100 marks) to test the aptitude of the candidate for architecture degree course.

Availability of Information brochure and other details

  • Information Brochure will be available for sale at the cost of Rs 50/- in Cash at all Application Form Receipt Centres (ARCs) listed below.
  • It is mandatory to procure the Information Brochure and go through it carefully. The CAT that will be conducted in pursuance of this advertisement is subject to the rules and regulations set out in this information brochure.
  • Submission of the application form in response to this advertisement will amount to accepting the afore said rules & regulations unequivocally by the applicant and upon such submission it will be presumed that the applicant agrees and accepts these rules & regulations as legal, valid and correct. It will not be open for any applicant, once having submitted the application form to question the legality, validity and correctness of these rules & regulations.
  • The Maharashtra State Candidates belonging to VJ/DT, NT(B), NT (C), NT (D), OBC and SBC categories should produce "Non Creamy layer Certificate" issued by Sub Divisional Officer/ Deputy Collector of the district in addition to the caste certificate. The "Non Creamy layer Certificate" should valid up to March 31, 2010. In case these candidates are not able to produce the Non Creamy layer certificate at the time of confirmation of application form at ARC; then such candidates will be treated as GENERAL category candidates and such candidates will not be able to stake claim on reserved seats in the entire admission process.
  • The Maharashtra State Candidates belonging to SC, ST, VJ/DT, NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC and SBC categories should produce "Caste Validity Certificate" issued by the Divisional/ Regional caste Certificate Scrutiny Committee of the respective Division/Region & Social/Tribe Welfare Office at the time of confirmation of application form at ARC; if any candidate could not produce Caste Validity Certificate then such candidate will have to give undertaking on the Non Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs 50/- along with the receipt of application submitted to Caste Validity Scrutiny Committee.

Submission and Confirmation of online filled application form:-

  • All Candidates are required to fill the web-based online application form at ARC/ Cyber Cafe or any computer connected to internet and take printout of the "Online filled Application Form"
  • The fees for appearing for MAH-AR-CAT 2009 is Rs 500/- For Reserved Category Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only and Rs. 700/- For All Other Candidates
  • Fee is to be paid at ARC in the form of Demand Draft / Pay Order only of any Nationalised /Scheduled/ Private Sector Commercial Bank drawn in favour of "Director of Technical Education, Mumbai" payable at Mumbai. No other mode of payment shall be permitted.
  • This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
  • The candidate should sign on the printout of online filled Application Form and attach the required attested copies of certificates.
  • All Maharashtra State candidates should go in person to the ARC for confirmation along with Original required documents and attested true copies for verification, two latest colour passport size photographs. Applications submitted online and subsequently confirmed at ARCs will only be considered valid for further processing.
  • Candidate should report to the examination centre half an hour before the examination.

Late Submission & Confirmation of application form

The candidates who may fail to confirm the On-line Application Form at the Designated ARCs will be permitted fill and confirm the On-line Application form at the following address after payment of additional late fee of Rs 500/- in cash. Such candidates have to fill and confirm the Application form in in person on May 21, 2009 up to 5 pm only at, Sir JJ College of Architecture, 78/3, DN Road, (Near CST Railway Station) Mumbai 400 001

--- Applications received after last date of schedule and/or incomplete applications will be summarily rejected and no communication in this regard will be done with the candidate.

--- All ARCs will remain open on all days including holidays for Sale of Information Brochure, submission and confirmation of Online Application Form/Option Form as per notified schedule between 11am- 5 pm
