Announcing work-integrated BS, MS programmes

What: The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani invites applications for admission to the following off-campus, work-integrated learning programmes:

BS Optometry
This four-year integrated first degree programme is conducted at Chennai in collaboration with Sankara Nethralaya-Elite School of Optometry, and at Hyderabad in collaboration with L V Prasad Eye Institute-Bausch & Lomb School of Optometry.

Requirements: Pass in 10+2 from Central/ State Board or its equivalent, with physics, chemistry and mathematics/ biology.

BS Physician Assistant
This four-year integrated first degree programme is conducted at Chennai in collaboration with Madras Medical Mission as well as with Frontier Lifeline-Dr K M Cherian Heart Foundation.

Requirements: Pass in 10+2 from Central/ State Board or its equivalent, with physics, chemistry and mathematics/ biology.

MS Medical Laboratory Technology
This three-year higher degree programme is conducted at Chennai in collaboration with Sankara Nethralaya-Medical Research Foundation.

Requirements: BSc in experimental sciences with exposure to biology and chemistry, or equivalent.

MPhil Optometry
This two-year higher degree programme is conducted at Chennai in collaboration with Sankara Nethralaya-Medical Research Foundation.

Requirements: BS Optometry of BITS, or equivalent.

The offering of any of the progammes is subject to availability of viable number of suitable candidates. The candidates should be prepared to appear at Chennai/ Hyderabad for a test / interview at their own expense, for which details will be put up in the BITS website after the stipulated deadline.

Application form and programme details can be downloaded from the BITS, Pilani website: www.bits-pilani.ac.in/dlp-home.

Deadline for submission of duly completed application form (alongwith the requisite processing fee of Rs 1,500/- to be paid as per procedure specified in the application form) to the undersigned, is 5 pm on June 21, 2010.
