The World Wildlife Federation is organising a series of nature walks and nature camps through the first three months of next year. Here is a list of places you can visit with the group.

Nature walks

January 8, Sunday – Karnala Bird Sanctuary

Charges: Rs. 750.00 for a subscriber and Rs. 1000.00 for a non-subscriber. This includes travel from Dadar station. to Dadar station.; a Breakfast, Lunch (All veg.); Forest entry ticket and resource person charges. Last date to register: 16th  December, 2011. Bus will leave at 06.30am from Dadar T.T.

January 22, Sunday – Nilje Lake

Charges: Free for subscriber and Rs. 50.00 for non subscriber.
Meeting point: Dombivali Station (E) Auto-rickshaw stand.    Last date to register: 16th December, 2011

February 5, Sunday – Elephanta island

Charges: Free for subscriber and Rs. 50.00 for non subscriber. However all participants have to buy their own tickets for fairy from Gate Way of India to Elephanta. Charges would be approximately Rs. 130.00 (Return ticket)
Meeting point: Ticket counter of Fairy rides Gate way of India.
Please note that this is not a cave visit. We will be visiting the hillock adjacent to Elephanta caves.

February 19, Sunday – Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary

March 4, Sunday – Horniman circle

Charges: Free for subscribers and Rs. 50/- for guests.
Meeting point: main entrance of the park
Time: 8.00 am sharp.
Carry water, packed brunch. Those who are interested should register their names with WWF-India Maharashtra State Office, Mumbai, on or before 1st March, 2012.

Nature Camps
 
January 28- 29, Nature Camp to Nandur Madhameshwar

A Nature camp is organised to the Nandur Madhameshwar, for subscribers and other nature lovers.
The camp cost is Rs. 2750/- for WWF-India subscribers and Rs 3250/- for others. The camp cost includes food, travel and accommodation. Registration – 6th January, 2012. For details please contact the WWF-India Maharashtra State Office, Mumbai.

February 11 –17, Nature Camp to Satpuda National Park, Madhai range and Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh

A Nature camp is organised to the Satpuda National Park, Madhai range & Pachmarhi for subscribers and other nature lovers.
The camp cost is Rs.13500/- for WWF-India subscribers and Rs.14500/- for others. The camp cost includes rides inside the national park & Pachmarhi, accommodation; travel and food (participants should carry food for train journey) from Mumbai to Mumbai. Registration is on first come first serve basis before November 18, 2011. For details please contact the WWF-India Maharashtra State Office, Mumbai.
Journey details:
11th February (Saturday), 2012: Departure by 12322 Kolkata Mail from Mumbai CST (CSTM) at 21.25. Reach Pipariya station at 10.21 am on 12th February, 2012.
16st February, 2012: Departure by 13201 RJPB LTT Express from Pipariya station at 18.10. Reach Lomanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) at 11.30 am on 17th Morning.

March 9 - 11 Nature Camp to Silvassa

A Nature camp is organised to the Silvassa, for subscribers and other nature lovers.
Camp charges – Rs.3750.00 for subscriber, Rs.4250.00 for non-subscriber.
The charges include food, travel (Private vehicle) and accommodation from Mumbai to Mumbai.
Meeting Point - Bus will leave from Dadar station at 06.30am
Registration is on first come first serve basis before February 17, 2012.

March 24-25 Nature Camp to Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary

A Nature camp is organised to the Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary, for subscribers/donors/members and other nature lovers.
Camp charges – Rs.2500.00 for subscribers/donors/members, Rs.3500.00 for non-subscriber.
The charges include food, travel (Private vehicle) and accommodation from Mumbai to Mumbai.
Meeting Point - Bus will leave from Dadar station at 06.30am
Registration is on first come first serve basis before February 17, 2012.

Rules and regulations to be followed at WWF camps and trails

  • Nature Camps conducted by WWF-India are educational camps and not luxury camps or picnics.
  • Basic necessities will be provided like simple and wholesome vegetarian food (tea/coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner), clean accommodation and toilets. During visits to remote forest areas participants will have to use open air toilets and rough it out.
  • Do not carry any music system or walkman, etc. in forest area.
  • Do not carry any inflammables and do not light fire in the forest area.
  • Do not tease any wild animal or destroy habitat of the Park or Sanctuary.
  • During multiple accommodation facilities at the camp site participants must adjust to them and no separate accommodation will be provided. The group leader will decide the room allotments and the participants in the room, no alterations will be done.
  • Participants have to adhere to the given itinerary and no alterations by the participants will be entertained.
  • Detailed program of the following day will be briefed one day in advance.
    Please carry your personal medicines and toiletries and clothes according to climate and season (do not wear red, white or fluorescent colours).
  • Smoking and consumption of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited.
  • Participants must follow strict discipline and no misbehavior will be tolerated any participant found doing so may be requested to leave the camp.
  • Participants should take care of their belongings & valuable articles & will be solely responsible for them.
  • No portage will be provided.
  • Mineral water will not be provided unless mentioned in the itinerary.
  • WWF-India will not be responsible for any mishap or catastrophe.
  • Participants should strictly follow the instructions of the group leader.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes and never wear any high heels foot wear.
  • Please carry Water bottle, Cap, Torch, Mosquito repellents, Personal medicines and toiletries.
  • Do not wear any kind of perfume or deodorant while in the sanctuary.
  • If a camp is canceled by WWF-India for reasons such as lack of enough participation, unless any expense is incurred, a 100 % refund will be given. Participants who cancel their seats prior to cancellation of the camp will not get a complete refund. Their cancellation will follow our regular cancellation procedures.
