Recovering from BlackBerry crash? 7 really cool chat apps

BlackBerry Messenger popularly known as BBM have become hot news quite through out the year. A recent news which confirmed fall of RIM BBM services left users limited to making calls ans sending and receiving SMS messages.

I think one of the lessons to be learned is that, perhaps, this centralisation of services has not been such a good idea and therefore it does not make sense to completely depend RIM's infrastructure. We should always have some handy alternatives with us.

Although there is evidence to suggest that BBM could expand beyond the borders, BBM communication is limited to other BlackBerry users only.

So taking advantage of the situation and considering diversification of services, we will review 7 instant messaging services as alternative to BlackBerry Messenger with which we can be in touch with our friends and also expand the reach of our communication to users of other mobile platforms.
