Maha HSC results declared, 79.95 percent clear the exam

With an overall pass percentage of 85.88 per cent, Konkan region topped the list followed by Aurangabad and Kolhapur which reported an overall pass performance of 85.26 and 84.14 per cent each.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education today declared the class XII exam results, which once again saw girls outshining boys.

The overall passing percentage in the state is 79.95.

The passing percentage for girls is 84.06, compared to 76.62 percent of boys.

Results for all the nine divisions -- Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, Amravati, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Latur and Konkan -- were simultaneously declared.

Over 10.88 lakh students appeared in the Class XII exam this year.

The division wise number of candidates registered, appeared for exam, passed and the passing percentage is as follows:

Konkan- 28,584, 28,497, 24,474, 85.88 per cent

Aurangabad- 97,894, 96,086, 81,925, 85.26 per cent

Kolhapur- 105,385, 104,567, 87,981, 84.14 per cent

Latur- 60,528, 59,140, 49,404, 83.54 per cent

Amravati- 86,371, 85,175, 70,003, 82.19 per cent

Pune-186,713, 185,287, 151,769, 81.91 per cent

Nasik- 130,006, 129,102, 102,004, 79.01 per cent

Mumbai -267,818, 266,449, 204,655, 76.81 per cent and

Nagpur-135,410, 134,350, 98,215, 73.10 per cent

Meanwhile, the overall figures for the state are: 10,98,709, 10,88,653, 870,430 and 79.95 per cent respectively
