Are you the best photographer in India?

Entries to the Sony World Photography Awards are now open.

The Sony World Photography Awards together with Sony Asia Pacific launches a competition to discover India's best photographer.

The India National Award category is open to photographers of all abilities from India.

Entries are free via Worldphoto.org and photographers can enter any of ten categories (listed on the official website of the awards)

The contest is open to photographers of all ages and skill levels.

Last year, this photograph (featured above) shot by Dr Arup Ghosh, a physician in Bhadreswar, a town about 30 km from Kolkata, was adjudged the best in the 'People' category.

Bisheswar Choudhury's photograph of washermen at the banks of the river Yamuna, titled Colourful India (below) won the Indian National Award.

The winning photographer will receive the latest photographic equipment from Sony while two photographers will receive runners-up prizes.

Works of all three photographers will be displayed as part of the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition to be held in London from April 24 to May 10 2015 and showcased online at Worldphoto.org.
