At Rs 53,900, the Hero Splendor Pro Classic is the cheapest cafe racer motorcycle in the world, says Faisal Ali Khan of MotorBeam. The other locally manufactured cafe racer styled motorcycle is the Royal Enfield Continental GT.

Hero MotoCorp is on a product onslaught post its break-up with Honda. The world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer by volumes is working on expanding its already large portfolio and has now put the Splendor Pro Classic on sale.

This bike is a cafe racer, a style which was very famous in the 1960s and is seeing a comeback in recent times. The automaker has silently launched the motorcycle, priced at Rs 53,900 (on-road price in Delhi).

The Hero Splendor Pro Classic sits above the regular Splendors in the company's portfolio. The Splendor+ costs Rs 4000 less while the Splendor Pro comes for Rs 1000 less.

For the added amount you pay for the Classic, you get the most stylish bike in the Splendor range. The round lights and mirrors along with spoke wheels and chrome mudguard give the Splendor a very retro appeal.

The bike does look good and is sure to please many in rural markets.

The Hero Splendor Pro Classic is powered by a 97.2cc, single-cylinder engine which churns out 7.7 BHP of peak power and 8.04 Nm of peak torque. This motor is paired to a 4-speed gearbox.

Compared to the regular Splendor, the Pro Classic version gets no mechanical changes. While many in urban markets won't like this Splendor much, people in rural markets are sure to greet this model with enthusiasm.
