5 pocket-friendly hangouts to visit in Delhi...

If you're a foodie, you must visit Delhi. The city doesn't disappoint anyone when it comes to food -- from the 'thela wala' momos, street food shacks, cafeterias, family restaurants, bars to the finest dining places; you name it, the city has got it!

But considering the cheap-skate in you that comes out every now and then (guilty as charged!), I decided to list down the cheapest hangout places in the city -- that won't let you down when it comes to checking-in at a fancy place!

Psst. To be on the safer side, always carry at least a 1000 bucks. Not because the prices have changed, but you might just end up eating much more than planned!

1. Rico's

  • Average cost per person: Rs 500
  • Address: 1st Floor, 2526, Hudson Lane, Kingsway Camp, Delhi University-GTB Nagar, New Delhi
  • Recommended: Mexican and Lebanese cuisine

One of the most reasonably priced places for yummy food, Rico's is a hit among students as it is located near the North Campus. The restaurant is beautifully done up with paintings, fancy lighting and a bookshelf with some of the most interesting reads tucked away in a corner. Read while you wait, and then chow down on lip-smacking delicacies. What more would one want!

2. Soda Bottle Opener Wala

  • Address: 73, Khan Market, New Delhi
  • Recommended: Parsi dishes

Considered as one of the gems of Delhi, Soda Bottle Opener Wala offers the most authentic Parsi cuisine in Delhi. The ambience made up of paintings, little candles, vintage style tables, antiques and quirky quotes all across, makes the restaurant totally worth a visit. They serve food in steel plates and tiffin boxes to make sure you don't miss out even on one of the fancies!

3. Khan Chacha

  • Avgerage cost per person: Rs 350
  • Address: First Floor, Shop 50, Middle Lane, Khan Market, New Delhi
  • Recommended: Chicken Tikka Roll, Mutton Seekh

One of the oldest eateries in Delhi, Khan Chacha is famous for its mutton seekh kebabs, paneer tikkas, rumali rolls and a lot more! If you're planning to go on a weekend, be warned -- this place is one of the most busiest restaurant in Khan Market, so you might want to head out to the place a little before meal time.

4. Big Yellow Door

  • Avgerage cost per person: Rs 500 (or less)
  • Address: H 8 B, Near GTB Nagar Metro Station, Opposite Hudson Lane's NDPL Office, Vijay Nagar, New Delhi
  • Recommended: B Y D Cheese Bomb Burger, Cheesy Nachos Mexicana, Butter Chicken Pasta

A crazy looking tilted yellow door, fancy lights and paper lamps hanging from the roof, Big Yellow Door offers an ambiance as enchanting as its food. This place is frequented by a lot of students for fancy drinks like mojitos, sodas, shakes and a lot more!

5. Bromfy Public House

  • Avgerage cost per person: Rs 500
  • Address: 4/3, Roopnagar, Opposite Kamla Nagar Market, Kamla Nagar, New Delhi
  • Recommended: Chilli Paneer

A perfect place for get-togethers and budget parties, Bromfy Public House has good music, good food, affordable alcohol and a tantalising ambience. The dim lighting, an in-house DJ and a variety of hookahs to choose from as well, this place is the go-to destination for parties!
