The annual Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2015 aims to provide a list of the top 100 most powerful global universities.
The subjective rankings are based on the judgement and opinion of senior and published academicians from across the country.
Much like last year, the United States of America dominated the annual rankings with 43 universities in the top 100 of which eight fall in the top 10.
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has 12 universities in the Top 100 of which two are in the top 10.

10. Columbia University, United States
Overall score: 21/100
Reputation (teaching) score: 18.1/100
Reputation (research) score: 22.1/100
In tenth place is Columbia University.
Founded in 1754, it has three undergraduate schools, 13 graduate and professional schools under its roof.

9. California Institute of Technology (Caltech), United States
Overall score: 24.1/100
Reputation (teaching) score: 20.8/100
Reputation (research) score: 25.4/100
At number 9 is the California Institute of Technology.
The private research university established in 1891 is spread across a 124-acre campus.
It offers 26 academic programmes across 49 research institutes and centres.
Caltech boasts of 33 Nobel laureates and 58 National Medal of Science recipients.

Yale University is ranked eighth.

The University of California is at Number 6.
Established in 1868, the public university operates across 10 campuses.
It is affiliated to 38 Nobel laureates, 19 Fulbright Scholars and 13 National Medal of Science Laureates.
