Expert tips to ace IBPS Bank PO exam

Amit Jaiswal, head of academics, MockBank.com shares advice on how to crack the upcoming IBPS Bank PO Main examination.

The Main examination for selection of probationary officers in various public sector banks in India is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

The examination is scheduled on Saturday, October 31, 2015.

To help our readers, Rediff.com had organised an online chat where Amit Jaiswal, head of academics, MockBank.com shared tips and strategies to crack the exam.

Thapliyal SB: hi, I am Rahul from nagpur, sir I want to know about the category wise cut off for IBPS PO/MT 2015

Amit Jaiswal: Hi Rahul, are you asking for prelims or mains. In case of prelims, it was 37 for the general category.


chinnu k: sir, I want very tough reasoning puzzles and seating arrangement bcoz here I'm solving very easily but in exam it's very tough as well as it will take so much time so plz tell me some materials or book with more questions

Amit Jaiswal: Hi Chinnu, purchase yourself a CAT LR/DI book. There you will have many problems to practice with. Thanks


sameer sethi: Sir from where can I get IBPS Exam solved question papers?

Amit Jaiswal: Hi Sameer, as IBPS has gone online for conducting its exams, previous year papers are not available.

It is memory based description that we have compiled for our students. Thanks


Amit srivastav : IBPS PO consists of three levels preliminary, mains and common, the candidates who have cleared the preliminary and the mains what is the procedure after that?

Amit Jaiswal: Once the candidate has cleared Prelims and Mains exams, s/he will get interview call letter by email. You will get sufficient time to prepare for interview.


Roshan Parkar: sir after clearing the preliminary and mains, how will I get my call letter for interview?

Amit Jaiswal: You will be intimated by IBPS through an email

Chinmay Thakur: Sir i want to give bank Po examination, just wanted to know whether Bank Po is a good career option?


Amit Jaiswal: Hi Chinmay, it actually depends on your personality traits.

One thing is for sure, this gives a much required stability to your career.

Icing on the cake is unlike expensive professional courses, you are not spending lakhs of rupees.

Ask one serious question to yourself - Why would you like to join the banking sector? It will help.


Farhan Aziz: can you explain the selection procedure IBPS CWE clerk exam?

Amit Jaiswal: It is like IBPS PO, it is conducted in two phases - Prelims and Mains.

Your final selection will depend on your performance in mains and interview round. Prelims in used only for shortlisting candidates for mains examination.


vaishali: Sir, how are the scores calculated for the IBPS PO examination?

Amit Jaiswal: Hi Vaishali, for every correct answer, one mark is awarded, for wrong answers, negative 0.25 marks is awarded.

For unattempted questions zero mark will be awarded.
