Sheetal Mallar

The hot, the cool and the bizarre -- we bring you our favourite moments from Lakme Fashion Week this season.

The latest instalment of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 had quite a lot of interesting things to rave about.

Scroll down to find out what WE loved the most and why.

1. Cool mumma Carol Gracias

We have seen Carol Gracias rule the ramp before, but for Gaurang Shah's show, she brought along her baby (bump) and we could not be happier.

What a cool way to celebrate motherhood. Girl, you rock!

2. Youth connect

What good is a fashion show without a young audience and Rohit Bal did just that by choosing Mumbai's popular St Xavier's College as his ramp.

The subtly lit campus looked nothing short of a Victorian painting.

3. Parking lot as a ramp

Talking of innovation, remember how Anand Kabra used a parking lot as his stage? We're sure none of you saw that coming....did you?

4. Sunny side up

Love her hate her, you just cannot ignore her.

The way she'd served a nosy journalist a few months ago had deservedly earned her respect among her critics and then came this show where she represented the 'Choice No Bar' section for e-commerce site AJIO.

5. Best out of waste

Not just in craft class, but patchwork is fast becoming a sustainable trend and we loved the way designer Agrima Batra said it in fashion. Check out more from her collection here.

6. Live mannequins!

If you have attended a fashion show before you'd agree that unless you sit in the first rows, it's not easy to catch a good glimpse of the outfits. Wendell Rodricks' came up with a solution -- live mannequins.

This way, both the audience and photographers could actually walk around the models and take a closer look at each outfit.

7. Bizarre fashion

There is often a thin line between being out of the box and being bizarre. Arjun Saluja, we think almost slipped into the latter category with his art installation on haq (rights) and freedom.

But we still admire his courage for swimming against the tide.

8. Sheetal Mallar!

Boy, did our hearts skip a beat!

When Sheetal Mallar made a brief and rare appearance at Rohit Bal's show, it seemed like a framed photograph from the 90s had come alive!

Not to mention how the postergirl looked radiant and fit as a fiddle.

9. The dancing queen

You have to be born in a different era to know how important this lady is. The yesteryear cabaret girl who walked for AJIO did a quick jig on the ramp and we were transported back in time.

Helen aunty, you still make us all smile!

10. Sanju Baba's Selfie

Now how often do we get our favourite stars to pose for us so effortlessly?

Actor Sanjay Dutt who attended Masaba Gupta's show surprised the photographers by clicking a selfie from his phone camera and even settled for a group photo later.

We so felt like giving him a jadoo ki jhappi!
