Remember the last time you took a selfie and were upset that your teeth looked yellow?

Here's some good news!

You can actually do something about it.

All you need to do is follow these 10 tips. Get started!

1. Avoid teeth staining drinks like coffee and red wine.

2. Choose the right lipstick shade. Did you know certain lip colours can actually make your teeth look significantly whiter (or darker)?

Learn how to pick the right shade for you. If you have grayish teeth, avoid red lipsticks with blue tones. Instead you could try a cooler tone.

3. Certain foods such as soy sauce, berries and curry stain your enamel. However, fibrous foods like apples, celery, carrots, spinach, broccoli and lettuce actually work to remove stains by exfoliating your teeth before the stain molecules attach to the teeth.

4. Reduce the contrast of the clothes you wear. It will result in the appearance of a whiter smile.

5. Remember to drink through a straw.

6. It helps if you brush immediately after drinking a stain-producing beverage like cranberry juice, coffee or red wine.

7. Try whitening floss and toothpaste recommended by your dentist.

8. Invest in a good toothbrush recommended by your dentist.

9. Visit your dentist and get personalised tooth bleaching or whitening trays. But do keep in mind that that one size doesn't fit all.

10. Set up a good oral care routine and follow it religiously.
