Dr Deepak Jacob tells us how love blossomed for him in college.
I first met Neena (my wife) when I was pursuing my fourth year in BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) at VMS Dental College, Salem. She was in her first year of college in the same department.
I was awestruck by her beauty, but it was not love at first sight.
Her mother knew my aunt and we got introduced to each other. They asked for my phone number as they knew nobody else in the college.
After a few days, I got a call from Neena and she said that she was being ragged by two of her immediate seniors and needed help.
I told her that I will handle this and she won't have any problems from any further.
I spoke to the two boys (who ragged her) and told them to keep off her as she was my cousin.
Few days later, she called and thanked me for my help.
After the incident, we started meeting often in college and love blossomed between us.
I proposed to her two days ahead of Valentine's Day on February 12,1995. She said that she was also in love with me.
After five years of courtship, we got married on January 2, 2000 (after she completed her studies). We have three wonderful children.
