It is a well-known fact that Chef Saransh Goila's butter chicken is popular in India.

The Mumbai-based chef has a chain of outlets which go by the name Goila Butter Chicken.

However, it was a pleasant surprise when Saransh made his debut as a guest chef on MasterChef Australia as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.

'MasterChef Australia makes you truly feel special! It's one of the most beautifully shot food shows I've ever seen,' the chef wrote on Instagram while sharing his experience on the cooking game show.

'It was an amazing opportunity to be there as a guest judge and a big enough platform to break a lot of myths and stereo types about Indian food and cooking,' he added.

'Proud to be a guest judge on #masterchefau and to think of it my journey as a chef started 10 years back just when this show began.

'I owe it to my parents, friends and all my well wishers who accept my love for food :) Thanks guys for believing in me -- this journey from PITAMPURA to MELBOURNE has been a dream run.'

For the show, Saransh made his popular recipe of butter chicken.

While it may have seemed like an easy feat for the desi chef, Saransh added, 'When you see the show you'll notice how difficult it is actually to cook a traditional Indian dish as simple as butter chicken from scratch!

'How only by adding rich dairy or extra spice you can not make a perfect Indian dish.

'It requires good technique, a lot of skill, and of course enough love to balance the spices,' he revealed.

'Wait till you see them make a roomali roti that requires months of practice.

Chef George Calombaris uploaded this pic, above, and wrote: 'A great chef and even more, a great guy @saranshgoila. All the way from Mumbai.'
