Television actor Siddhant Karnick, who was recently in Bhutan, posted a video (external link) on Facebook highlighting the urgent need for Indian tourists to behave better.
In the two-minute video, Karnick described how shocked he was at the behaviour he observed of Indians in Bhutan on his trip.
They were loud, disrespected local culture and disrupted the tranquility of religious places.
‘This is not your backyard. You do not own this place. This is not your hall, don’t scream around and ruin a peaceful, tranquil place' is Karnick’s appeal in a video which has gone viral.
Many who watched the video have shared their stories of how we Indians often misbehave and cause embarrassment when we travel within India or abroad.
Said one: 'Recently I was in Fatehpur Sikri (Agra). And I was literally picking up chips packets, cold drink bottles, which a huge group with innumerable number of kids… was (were) throwing....We are disgusting'
