1. Diversify, be multi-skilled

From Miss World 2000 to an actor who worked in Hindi and Tamil films, Priyanka Chopra didn't just settle for one role. She realised the importance to diversify and multi-task much early in life.

In 2002, Priyanka took up playback singing in her films and over the years, collaborated with international artists like Jay Sean and will.i.am reaching out to a global audience and topping the music charts eventually.

For someone with no professional music training, Priyanka managed to build a successful alternate music career.

She also founded Purple Pebble Pictures and produced the Marathi film Ventilator which was a commercial success.

Simultaneously, Priyanka also wrote columns in leading dailies establishing her skills as a good communicator. She is currently working on a book of her memoirs titled Unfinished scheduled to be released in 2019.

2. Networking is the key

Priyanka was born and brought up in India.

But when she made a choice to travel to the US and work there, she realised the importance of staying connected to her roots and people back home.

If you follow her closely, Priyanka will tell you how to convert a first meeting into a meaningful, long-term friendship.

Wherever she goes, she is surrounded by important men and women who challenge, uplift and inspire her.

Her influential circle of friends now includes a diverse mix of strong women who live in different parts of the country like the Dutchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, Isha Ambani, Youtube star Lilly Singh and the like.

Through her social media posts or throwback pictures, she shares her affection for the people she cares.

It proves how time and distance should never come in the way of maintaining a relationship.

3. Connect with audience

Priyanka has a way of talking to her followers in a way that appeals to them.

Through live chats and video blogs, Priyanka often responds to her followers sometimes answering silly questions, wishing them on their birthdays or simply acknowledging their love and admiration for her.

4. Share a part of your life

Most often, celebrities hesitate to share their personal lives with absolute strangers.

While caution is good, sometimes it also creates a divide between you and the follower who is invested in you.

Unlike her peers, Priyanka never shies away from posting a few private pictures from her holidays, fashion shoots or family outings.

In a way, she lets her followers know there is also a fun, vulnerable side to her oh-so-perfect public life.

5. Take pride in what you do

It could be something as insignificant as a fleeting guest appearance in a big budget project or a regular magazine cover, but Priyanka takes pride in being a part of it.

She will talk about it with the same affection like she would if she had landed a lead role or won an award.

It doesn't matter what the critics say, but Priyanka will tell her followers that she is proud of her hard work and involvement in it and that it is for the audience to decide.

6. Be useful

Remember the time Priyanka posted a video with her mother Madhu Chopra talking about the beauty secrets she swears by?

Priyanka often shares tips and lessons about what she has learned from her life, from the people she meets and works with.

It is perhaps one of the best examples of how you can use the power of social media to reach out and be helpful to others.

7. Give back to society

As the UNICEF global ambassador for child rights, Priyanka's posts have inspired people across the world to give importance to education, while at the same time focus on protecting the environment and giving back to society.

It is amazing how she juggles these multiple roles of being an actor, fashion icon, artist, UNICEF ambassador alongside being a dutiful daughter and wife and ticks all the right boxes.

More power to you, Priyanka!
