Lakme Absolute Grand Finale designers Saaksha and Kinni's collection, Gor, was a celebration of the women of the powerful Banjara tribe.

Along with a colourful palette, the collection highlighted stone prints, bandhani, threadwork, mirrors and coins.

The designers tell Anita Aikara/Rediff.com how they created the look for showstopper Mrunal Thakur.

Our journey has taught us many difficult lessons, but has been incredibly fulfilling too.

We consider ourselves lucky to be chosen to showcase as part of GenNext back in 2017 and, today, we are humbled to be part of this year's grand finale.

Our collection is called Gor -- a name given to the Banjara tribe and also a term used to describe their profession.

The fabrics include chiffons and cotton silks.

Taking cues from Lakme's colour palette, we have used pinks, greens, nudes and oranges.

It took two months for us to put the collection together.

Having a strong theme always helps with inspiration. We wanted to shine the spotlight on the Banjara women -- they are the epitome of skill, strength and culture.

We were so excited to dress Mrunal. She is graceful, embodies our style and has great taste in fashion.

Her outfit took approximately 200 man-hours to complete.

It consists of an intricate hand-embroidered metal, mirror and thread work jacket and an abstract print tiered and ruffled skirt.

We wanted her look to represent strength, beauty while maintaining a fun quotient.
