It's fashion week time again and we get to look at beautiful clothes and the latest trends.

On October 6, the Fashion Design Council of India x Lakme Fashion Week begins its latest edition.

Spanning five days, the fashion extravaganza will see a host of designers from across the country showcase their talent and ideas through their collections.

Here's what's in store for us this year.

1. Live and phygital shows

Much like the previous season, keeping in mind the pandemic and its guidelines, this edition will see a mix of live and phygital shows.

Since all shows will be streamed live on Instagram and Facebook, you can watch them from the comfort of your home.

2. New venue

IMAGE: FDCIxLakme Fashion Week will be held at Mumbai's Jio World Convention Centre. The first on-ground show will be held on October 7.

In the 15 years, the fashion week has set up ramps at some interesting venues in and around Mumbai.

This year, it will be held at the Jio World Convention Centre in the city's business district, Bandra-Kurla Complex.

3. Promising new talent

IMAGE: As part of the Emerging Talent initiative, The Pot Plant label will showcase their collection, Liquid Love, on October 7.

Each season, Lakme offers a platform to young and aspiring designers.

On Day 1, the GenNext session will introduce new talent like Deepit Chugh and Twinkle Haspal, whose collection will be presented by young models -- some of whom will be making their debut this year.

4. Sustainable fashion

The pandemic has once again focused the spotlight on sustainable, planet-friendly fashion.

So, all shows on October 8 will raise awareness about responsible fashion.

5. Tech meets fashion

Technology plays an important role in all our lives. From gadgets to accessories, we all want to own and flaunt the best, most stylish devices.

Logitech is collaborating with designers Pankaj and Nidhi to create some really cool accessories you can use while working from home.

These will be unveiled on October 9.

6. The return of Gaurav Gupta

Gaurav Gupta returns to fashion week to present the grand finale.

The designer, who loves the ocean, will highlight the importance of making conscious fashion choices.

Showcasing the #DefinetoRedefine concept, he has created clothes made from wrappers of crisps and biscuits, plastic bottles and other daily consumables that have littered oceans and landfills.

7. Kareena and the grand finale

Bebo, we missed you for two seasons!

The glamorous actor-author and mum of two will make a grand comeback at the grand finale on October 10.
