It's that time of the year again and house parties are as popular than ever. So if you want to take charge of the bar and toss up martinis that James Bond would kill for, we have just the thing for you.
Here, Nevil Timbadia, partner of resto-bar Bonobo in Mumbai shows you how to make two kinds of martinis.
Pomegranate-and-mint Martini
You may not care for it as a fruit, but Pomegranate sure does make for one heck of a martini!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 or 1/3 pomegranate (depending on the size)
- 30 ml vodka
- 15 ml sugar syrup (or 1tsp sugar)
- 15 ml limejuice
- Lots of ice
- Some mint leaves
Method of preparation:
- Squeeze the pomegranate into a martini shaker
- Add sugar syrup, vodka and limejuice to it.
- Fill the shaker half way with ice.
- Shake it well.
- Strain and pour it in a glass and add a few mint leaves on top.

Espresso Martini
Now vanilla and coffee may not exactly be your idea of martini ingredients, but sure enough the two can make for one potent drink.
Ingredients:
- 60 ml (large) espresso shot
- 15 ml sugar syrup (or 1tsp of sugar)
- 45 ml (or 1 large shot) vanilla vodka (or a few drops of vanilla essence mixed with plain vodka)
- Lots of ice
Method of preparation:
- In a martini shaker add the espresso shot, sugar syrup and vanilla vodka
- Fill the martini shaker half way with ice.
- Shake it well.
- Strain and pour it in a glass. Add a pinch of coffee powder.
