Men's magazine GQ held the Indian segment of their Man of the Year Awards for the first time in Mumbai on September 27. Abhi, Ash, Karan, Kats and more were looking hot on the red carpet, so here's a sneak peek at who took home the titles and who wore what.

Undoubtedly, Bollywood power-couple Saif and Kareena were undoubtedly the highlight of the evening, what with them both winning in different categories. Chhote Nawab took home the honours for Ultimate GQ man of the Year, while ladylove Bebo was the proud recipient of the Excellence of the Year distinction.

On the red carpet, both of them were dressed to the nines, with him sporting a dapper suit and stylish shades and her in a floor-sweeping, figure-hugging blue and black number.

Not ones to be left out, Mr and Mrs Abhishek Bachchan also made their fashionable presence felt at the function in cutting-edge couture. While Ash opted for a sweeping purple gown and jewelled wrist cuff, Abhi played tall, dark and handsome in a sheen-tinged grey jacket and trousers. Both were there to cheer Amitabh Bachchan, who received the Lifetime Achievement of the Year award. The Outstanding Achievement of the Year title, on the other hand, went to the very accomplished Irrfan Khan, while Sreenivasan Jain won TV Personality of the Year.

Stylish sport

The Sportsman of the Year award went to Leander Paes, what with his spectacular win at the US Open Men's Doubles Grand Slam tournament last month. Wife Rhea Pillai looked lovely in a draped blue dress with sparkling footwear, while Paes himself looked the part of the sophisticated international sportsman he is.

Hmmm. We've seen this ensemble on Katrina before, but then she looks a vision in it, so we're not complaining. Kats was there to collect her Woman of the Year award. But we wonder whether Designer of the Year winner Rajesh Pratap Singh would have approved of her wearing the same outfit twice on two separate occasions!

The dapper director

If Karan Johar ever turns up at an event looking badly dressed, we will be very surprised indeed. The filmmaker was his usual stylish self on the GQ red carpet and like Bebo, he was awarded an Excellence of the Year award. Fellow B'wood director Vishal Bhardwaj was another recipient of the same title.

Leading the way

J&K chief minister Omar Abudullah was bestowed with the Young Leader of the Year award and cut quite a dashing figure in his trademark Nehru jacket. Wife Payal also looked pretty in an earthy, dip-dye sari with glimmering edges. We wouldn't mind taking a peek into her wardrobe!

Another politician who made the grade was Minister of State for External Affairds Shashi Tharoor, who took home the Inspiration of the Year title.

Italian charisma

Actor Dino Morea was in attendance and although he didn't win anything, it's worth mentioning that he looks like an Italian hunk in this well-cut pin-striped suit. Too bad there was no best-dressed category, Dino!

Surprise jodi

Dino's ex Lara Dutta surprised everyone when she walked in on the arm of Abhay Deol, who won Breakthrough Talent of the Year, presumably for his hit movie Dev D. Lara was her usual stunning self in a fuschia gown, while Abhay teamed faded denims with a jacket and tie. They also quite seemed to enjoy each other's company, from the looks of it!

Emerald empress

Actress Chitrangada Singh was also at hand to witness the ceremony, looking the part of an empress in an emerald green pleated affair. Very haute couture!

We are family

And finally, we have this cozy family pic of the Bachchans as a unit. While Big B and the missus were their usual impeccable selves, we must say Abhi's sis Shweta Nanda stole the show in her sexy halter-necked dress. Who'd have thought she had it in her!

Also, for those of you who like to be in the know, here's a list of the other awardees:

Writer of the Year: Neel Mukherjee
Artist of the Year: Atul Dodiya
Businessman of the Year: Aditya Puri
Global Indian of the Year: Dr Rajendra Pachauri
