Saris teamed with pants on the ramp

Anamika Khanna offered an edgy take on Indian designs and sensibilities at the WLIFW as she teamed up saris with trousers and contrasted colours and patterns.

Here, Candice Pinto shows off a flirty baby doll dress. A pair of jeans/leggings recommended for the not-so-daring folks.

Black and white

Most of the garments shown on the ramp were black and white like this one, where the darker colour seems to add a layer to the dress.

Not so sari about it

It might make the traditionalists squirm in their seats seeing a sari worn with a pair of pants. But does it look like Noyonika Chatterjee even cares?

Short and sweet

High hemlines sure make the cut these days. Have legs will show seems to be the mantra.

Golden lining

We love this poncho, especially because of the classy gold border. Yes, it's worn with a pair of pants here. No you needn't wear it like that -- give the pants a complete pass.

This one's for the print

Anamika's show was about 'the woman who can make it on her own'. Prints have been quite a hit this season and the designer doesn't want to be left behind -- seen here is Candice in an airy sari.

Easy and crumpled

That definitely seems to be the way to go with a Monday morning bed head like Sonalika Sahay here.

In tatters

A cutwork jacket hangs loosely over a pair of relaxed blue trousers with the trademark black-and-white crumpled dress on the inside.
