I try to evoke the beauty of a goddess in my designs'

Veteran designer Tarun Tahiliani showcased his latest line at the WLIFW on Day One. By his own admission, Tahiliani prefers his creations to be classic and so does not follow a singular theme nor trends. These are, as he puts it, attempts to 'evoke the beauty of a goddess'.

First up is this becoming lilac number, set off by kitten-heeled mules and silver accessories.

Grecian feel

Next we have Nethra Raghuraman wearing a Greek toga-like draped dress in peach.

Corset couture

Fading from strawberry to pale orange, this draped ensemble shows off a constricting corset bodice.

Pink passion

Hemangi Pate shows off her great figure in a simple but striking pink sari, worn with a long choli.

Light and airy

We see Nethra once more, this time in a soft black one-sided affair, with a light print to jazz it up for the season.

Knot it on

Carol Gracias sails out in a draped mini, one shoulder showing off a firm knot that looks like it holds the whole dress together.

Trim in tassels

Glimmering black can never go wrong -- dig this lovely tasseled ensemble with a see-through neckline.

Medieval maharani

Tahiliani goes the classic vintage route with this royal-looking churidaar kameez.

Hint of scarlet

Mashoom Singha strikes a pose in a crinkled red choli and lightly dotted white sari.

The sweeping effect

Go with ethnic elegance on a formal occasion -- it's always the right choice, from the looks of this timeless number.

Seamless fusion

The lovely Lisa Haydon shows off a star entry -- the designer pulls off a Western shirt moving into an embroidered mermaid ghagra.

Among his many muses

Tahiliani steps out among his winning designs as the audience gives him a warm welcome.
