On the runway: Love, revolution and passion

Designer label Lecoanet Hemant showcased three distinct lines on Day Three of the LFW -- sporty vests and jackets for men, slinky cocktail dresses for women and a third, very unusual line of 'Ayurganic' clothing.

While the first two collections are part of the new Re-LOVE-ution range from LC, the third is an organic venture.

All these 'Ayurganic' pieces are created from natural fabrics that have been treated with special herbs and oils to free it of synthetic chemicals. The materials are also dyed using herbs and its benefits are meant to promote overall wellness and boost your immunity.

The show started with the Re-LOVE-ution line. The emphasis for menswear from this collection was to create a 'shield' over your regular clothing, using padded jackets. Seen here is one such vest in military green, a bright turmeric neckscarf and shoes adding a dash of colour.

Sleek style

Formal from the waist up, funky from the waist down -- mix and match is where it's at.

Jet setter

Roomy pants and a matching jacket make for a relaxed look, but the metallic footwear keeps things edgy.

Subtle hues

Ignatius Camilo strolls down the runway in wine-coloured tapered denims and a leathery trenchcoat. Don't miss the heavy-duty belt buckle!

Splash of red

Sahil Shroff is up next in a block-printed, cropped vest with a pocketed belt on sash-style to create an impression.

Scout's honour

Front-pleated formal pants are teamed with a scout scarf and cap for the coming-of-age look.

Haute hoodie

We're not sure how well a padded sleeveless hoodie goes with a formal charcoal suit, but individually, they sure do work.

'Ayurganic' entry

Signalling the entry of the organic line is this bushy-haired model carrying a banner of the much-hyped health fabric.

Lounge around...

In these comfy pyjamas and nightshirt; seen in the background is another similar ensemble and a hooded cape on the male model. The designers have specified that these garments are intended to sleep, relax and meditate in.

Swathed in

One more Ayurganic ensemble sees only a humongous wrap swathed over roomy white pants.

Miss India makes her mark

Miss India Ekta Chowdhry, who competed in the Miss Universe 2009 pageant last month, kicks off the womenswear segment with Ignatius.

The dresses, inspired by trends of the 1920s, are slimline and slightly flaired at the hemlines. Ignatius is wearing a kicky jumpsuit for men over a formal shirt and tie.

Cute couple

Model Candice Pinto, showing off a sheer white churidaar kurta, comes on next, accompanied by a male model in a grey trenchcoat.

Trendsetters

Pleated black with sparkles, this lovely ethnic ensemble for women would be a surefire hit at any cocktail party. For him, a brown leather jacket and red-seamed pants create a casual, rugged appeal.

Both sides of the spectrum

Another lovely white churidaar kurta takes a turn on the runway; Sahil Shroff wears a formal suit, worn this time over a zippered vest instead of under it.

All his togs in tow

One half of the designer duo, Hemant Sagar, takes to the ramp with the whole host of models following. Didier Lecoanet was missing in action!
