Gandhiji on a tee: Patriotism gets a glamorous look

Sanjay Hingu explored the patriotic angle at the opening show of the LFW's Day Three. The collection, inspired by the freedom fighters of the nation, was urban and not surprisingly, primarily used natural fabrics like cotton and linen. Check it out.

Things kicked off with this lovely graphic checkered jacket, bearing a print of the Father of the Nation on the left shoulder. The casual jeans and black tee ensured that the focus remained on the statement garment.

Map it out

Next up is a pair of funky checkered pants, worn underneath a grey shirt, bearing sections of India's map on the breast pockets.

Branding of a different kind

Ankle crops provide the backdrop for the names of freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Jawaharlal Nehru etched across. Above is a kurta, teamed with a steely jacket.

Velour in vogue

Soft, subtle velour is mixed and matched, worn over a printed shirt.

Slick city walker

The designer jazzes things up with an edgy formal, consisting of a light metallic coat, waistcoat and shirt-pant combo.

Freedom fashion

The facial profiles of prominent historic figures are presented over a diamond print and emblazoned with 'freedom' across the front. Be patriotic and fashionable at the same time!

A representation of the Mahatma's iconic Dandi march appears against a tie and dye motif.

Sahil Shroff makes an entry in shorts and a jacket that depicts soldiers of the British army.
