With frequent fashion events and more fashion houses opening in the North East, the industry has begun to flourish in Meghalaya. Stores selling trendy attire and accessories are mushrooming in the region.
The Fashion Society Shillong, a not-for-profit organisation, has contributed a lot to the upliftment of the industry there. It has been promoting fashion designers, models and weavers of the North East for the past 25 years.
