We invited you to send in unique summer-themed photographs -- odd scenes that are captured on a lens for posterity -- to share with other readers. Here is the first set of responses!
First up is this pic from Sarfaraaz Hasan. Says he, "I shot this photograph on my way back from Kaliyar to Roorkee. I was with my wife and 2-year-old son, driving my car. My wife spotted this bird in the act of eating the frog. I immediately stopped the car and brought out my camera from the dashboard (I always keep it in there). I took many pics of this bird -- here is one of them and I hope you like it."
Share your interesting summer snapshots with us! They could be from anywhere across India or the world, but they have to be original.
Simply e-mail your photographs to getahead@rediff.co.in (subject line: 'Unusual summer pics') -- we'll publish the most interesting ones right here. And make sure to include a little-write up of where you clicked the snap.
Remember, the theme is summer, so your photograph has to gel with the season. Hurry and send in your entry today!

This cute little snap is from Sunil Magadi in Bangalore, who says, "This captures the happiness on my son's face while having a bath in chilled water at my house. It certainly chills everyone who is facing the scorching heat of summer!"
Ankit Bhatla sent in this snap, taken from his room at IIT Guwahati, where he is currently pursuing engineering studies. "While the rest of India is sweating it out, Northeast India is enjoying its share of abnormal rains. And it's not only the weather that has changed, but the colour of lightning too!" he says.
This one, e-mailed by Abhinav Sethi, is simply titled 'Capturing Goa summers'. "There is nothing better than a sunset on a beach in Goa," is his belief.
And finally, here is Anand Mundhada's contribution, of a bull helping to "quench our thirst by working so hard in the summer heat to produce sugarcane juice." We're bound to agree!
