Readers share images of their bridal finery!

Show us what you wore on your wedding day and tell us all about it.

Yesterday, we invited readers to share images and videos of their bridal attire with us, along with a brief description -- where it was bought, what kind of embellishments were used to give it that unique look and why it appealed to them. Here are the first couple of responses:

First up we have Rekha Rao, looking beautiful in traditional red. Here's what she has to say about her wedding ensemble:

I wore a red lehenga-style sari -- the golden dupatta stitched and embroidered by me, which was a good combination -- and some polki artificial jewellery.

The embroidery was completely unique on the front side of the sari, which you will not find on any other garment. It was a rose pattern in three different colours and sizes, with hint of green leaf, minimal work of golden sitaras and heavy stone work.

The dupatta cost me only Rs 1,000. I made it using golden tissue, a border of Veer Zaara-style lace and did sitara and stone work by synchronising the stones.

I chose to have this sari, which cost only Rs 10,000 for several reasons:

• It can be worn in different ways -- you can wear it as a sari or you also have the option to wear it as a lehenga only. I can also make a fish-cut lehenga out of it, if I want to.
• I can make a good, heavy suit by using its front side and a lighter dupatta.
• It was very economical.

Whether it was an extensively embroidered lehenga, a crystal-encrusted gown or something in between, we want to see what you wore when you got married. And yes, we'll publish it right here!

I wore a beautiful yellow and orange Kanjeevaram sari on my wedding day. I paired it with (movie) Jodha-Akbar style kundan jewellery. The look on my husband's face when I walked to the mandap made all the efforts and energy I spent on the outfit worth it!
