Swarming sky

Next we have this stunning picture from Srinivasa Prasath of Hyderabad, who says, "The other day when I was standing on the terrace, I noticed these huge gloomy clouds gathering at a distance. Suddenly it started to pour heavily nearby, while the sun was still setting in the background. It was a rare opportunity to see both the natural occurrences at the same time. This photograph shows how tiny we (city) look under the huge monsoon cloud umbrella!"

The hanging drop

Dr Prakash Lalpotu of Basmathnagar Maharashtra, sent in this one, explaining, "Monsoon is a season liked by every nature lover. The rain drops falling on leaves, flowers and branches of twigs shine in sunlight and give the appearance of hanging pearls."

Doorway to mysticism

We received this one from Baljeet Singh, who says that it was captured during a monsoon trek.

Shining through the rain

And finally, we have this night-time pic from Prasanna Vijay of Bangalore. "This is taken in Hyderabad," he explains. "It was raining heavily and it was not possible to go out. So I started shooting and the bright street with the rain was amazing to see."
