Go stylish for under Rs 2K

Sanjukta Krishnagopal stood out from a crowd that seemed to have a penchant for garish clothes.

The stylish student from Ruia College in north-central Mumbai tells us she likes to keep it simple. In fact what she's wearing costs a little over Rs 1,500.

Here's how she pulled it off:

Bag it

Ahmed Shaikh tells you that he loves to wear good clothes and occasionally gel his hair. And bags, he confesses, are his weak spot.

Ahmed knows a simple white shirt and a pair of good jeans can go a long way and doesn't mind spending a little extra on it.

Here's what this student from Jaihind College, south Mumbai, is worth in the pic:

Wool is cool

Now, we didn't really get the point of wearing a woollen jacket smack in the middle of a humid August day. But it was cool enough for Renel Thorat of St Xavier's College in south Mumbai.

Renel loves his jackets more than his women and says he wouldn't mind going great lengths for a pair of good jeans.

Saying it with colour

It's hard to miss Sarvesh Ghosalkar.

The student of Bhavan's College in south Mumbai doesn't mind borrowing his friends' stuff once in a while to stand out.

Quirky badges make a statement

Rashmi Punjabi may not give two hoots about what she'd like to be seen in.

But when it comes to her badges, the commerce student from HR College, south Mumbai, certainly has her favourites. She will tell you exactly where she picked what badge from or who gave her which one as a gift.

The best place in Mumbai to find a badge, she says is at the Palladium mall in Lower Parel, south-central Mumbai, and Alz, a store in Bandra, north-west Mumbai.

None of the badges you see costs more than Rs 30 each. Except a couple that were handmade by one of her friends as a gift.

It's 'shoe' time

While Crocs are a hot favourite among college students (both girls and boys), checked shoes such as the ones (Rs 1,200) alongside seemed quite popular too.

Original Crocs cost anywhere around Rs 1,000, cheap imitations are available on the streets for as little as Rs 250.
