"The elephant is named Guruvayoor Ganeshan from the famous elephant santuary at Guruvayoor, Kerala," he says. "The picture was taken as the the mahoot waters him down."

He visited the fort in December 2008 adn describe it as "a scenic and peaceful place with MTDC resorts, great food and nice weather."

 

Kempty Falls, Uttarakhand

I took this snap of Kempty Falls in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand when I was vacationing in December 2009 with my wife Preethi," says Babu Sreenath

The waterfall is located 15 kms from Mussoorie and is a breathtaking view as the water falls from an altitude of about 40 feet and splits further into five-six streams.

Borra Caves, Andhra Pradesh

The Borra Caves are located on the east coast of India, in the Ananthagiri hills of the Araku valley of the Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh," shares Prasenjit Ghosh.

The caves are one of the largest in the country, and are at an elevation of about 705 m (2,313 ft).

Sum, Rajasthan

"It's one of the perfect locations in India and the sand dunes have a beauty of their own. I went there in July 2006 but must say it was the experience of a lifetime."

 

Pabanasam Dam, Tamil Nadu

Satheesh Kumar Subramanian took this photo when he visisted the Agasthiyar falls which is 15kms from Pabanasam and 40 kms from Tirunelveli.

"To reach the Agasthiyar falls you need to travel 15 kms in the hills and you have to cross the lake by boat for 2 kms.
The place was very beautiful surrounded by mountains and lakes," he says.

 

Guru Dongmar, Sikkim

I visited Sikkim in May 2009," shares Abhilash Mana. "The lake that is seen in the picture is Guru Dongmar, 17,000 ft above sea level, in North Sikkim. It's a full-day journey from Gangtok, and one must stay overnight in a village called Lachen, and leave by 4am to the lake the next day to get there by 8am.

"The place is pristine as compared to most other tourist spots in India and we loved the tranquil beauty and pindrop silence."
