Fashion: Ethnic elegance and trends for this year

High-end fashion store Aza launched their latest branch in New Delhi this past weekend and a ramp show featuring several prominent designers was organised to mark the occasion.

Exquisite ethnic designs by the likes of Sabyasachi, JJ Valaya, Varun Bahl and Rohit Bal were on display and actress Sameera Reddy looked resplendent in a bridal showstopper by Neeta Lulla. You could well say that the tone for ethnic trends this year has been set by the quality work of India's best designers as seen at the Aza showing. Take a look.

Seen here is Sonalika Sahay, modelling a gorgeous pink and blue lehenga by Bahl.

Seductive black

Midnight appeal oozes from this dark, glimmering sari with its antiquated red and blue border.

Feminine flair

Rohit Bal lightens up the mood with a pretty red and white anarkali that swirls becomingly over churidaar pants.

Pink 'n' gold reverie

From Bal we go back to Bahl, offering a gorgeous pink and gold ensemble -- velour and tulle at their best.

Sari couturier

When it comes to decadent drapes, few can compete with Sabyasachi. We see Sonalika once more, in a sari that Vidya Balan is sure to like -- she's a Sabya fan and has been seen in similar outfits on numerous occasions!

Dueling hues

Next we have model Indrani Dasgupta cascade down the runway in a dip dye number.

Sharp contrast

Royal blue, fuschia pink and stark white create a sharp contrast on this anarkali, also by Bal. The delicate embroidery on the bodice sets off the whole look.

Emerald inspiration

Make heads turn with rich emerald green, topped off with a pleated dupatta.

Belle of the ball

Sameera Reddy stuns in Neeta Lulla's breathtaking bridal, boasting of intricate cutwork and crystals.

Bevy of beauties

Starry Sam strikes a pose among the models at the end of the showing.
