Unusual monsoon pics: After the rain

We invited you to send in unique rain-themed photographs -- odd scenes that are captured on a lens for posterity -- to share with other readers. Here are some more responses!

First up are three pictures from Jakarta shot by amateur photographer Pankaj V Nirale. "The highrise apartments in Kuningan, Jakarta's business district look awesome after the rains," he writes.

Pankaj says that rain drops and sun rays after rains are of special interest to him. This one too is a panoramic view of the business district in Kuningan.

Vinod emailed us this image of waterfall rappelling shot by him at Vihigaon near Kasara in Maharashtra.

Madhuri Ramagopal sends in this picture taken of a sunset at Agumbe, Karnataka just after the rains. She writes: "You can still see the clouds hovering above the mountains. It looked splendid! The vast expanse of mountains, the sunset and the rains made for a beautiful picture!"

Poornima Sathy shot this picture of Lake Titisee in the heart of Black Forest, Germany. She writes: "The Black Forest region turned darker with ominous dark clouds and bone chilling winds during an out of season rain burst in the middle of spring. The dry branches, colourful flowers and dark clouds seem to make a picture of merging seasons."

Bala Krishnan shares with us this photo he shot along the Bengaluru-Hyderabad Highway near Devanahalli.

Reader Piyush Sachdev writes: "This was taken from inside the car, on my way to Kasauli from Delhi, in June this year. It rained very heavily which made driving the very narrow roads up to Kasauli a very challenging task!"
