Popster Lady Gaga is sometimes more in the news for her eccentric fashion choices and statements than for her music. Here's a look at some of her various red carpet and performance appearances -- rate the eccentric styles at the bottom of each page and let us know what you think!
Rising star
Lady G wasn't all that eccentric when her fame was just on the rise, as is apparent from this flesh-coloured leotard and plastic-fashioned bra, worn by her at a 2009 performance in Monaco. What say -- sexy or strange?
Fiery fatale!
In Toronto last June, however, she really had everyone sit up and take notice when she showed up in this metal-studded bodysuit. Pyrotechnics actually blazed forth from her bustiere while she sang -- talk about fiery outfits!
Bondage overkill
July of 2009 saw her show up at a press conference decked out in black leather, elbow gloves -- and a mask covering all of her face except her nose. Makes you wonder how she answered questions without sounding all muffled!
Plenty of flounce
Gaga does go the feminine route from time to time, but in her own distinct way -- she donned this dress for a Berlin television interview last September. If it weren't for the crazy platforms and slash-cropped blonde bob, she'd look almost normal!
On-stage style
When performing, however, there are no holds barred. The blonde popster presented her hit song Paparazzi at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in this cut-away bodysuit with thigh-high boots and shock makeup.
Innerwear becomes outerwear
Lady Gaga's every public appearance stirs up a flurry from fashion critics, with the world waiting to see what she'll step out in next. Safe to say, she didn't disappoint at a NY-based promotional event when she showed up in fishnets, satin knickers and ruffles galore.
The Lady meets the Queen!
There was a lot of hype when the queen of crazy clothes was due to meet the Queen of England. Since she was quite capable of showing up in a see-through ensemble that would probably give the octogenarian monarch a shock she'd never recover from, Gaga was warned to tone down the skinshow. She managed to abide by that and still keep her fashion reputation intact in this rubbery red gown and nightmare-inducing eye-makeup.
Balancing act
We're still wondering how Lady G managed to walk the red carpet at this year's Grammys back in Jan -- all she had to do was jump out of those shoes if she felt suicidal. And balancing the glimmering triangular headgear on her head was another feat in itself. For that alone, she deserved an award!
Orbiting haute couture
And one dress is hardly enough for the Grammys if you're Gaga! For this space-inspired gown, she had a little help from Armani -- the shoes remained the same, though. As for the yellow hair, we have no words.
White fright
Arriving for an AIDS benefit in NY in February, the singer chose to make a statement by slathering on powder from head to toe, gluing pearls onto her face and body and putting on nothing but a pair of panties and a jacket. What? You're surprised?
Three-tiered grandeur
The 30th Brit Awards in London saw her walk the red carpet in this unique gown, with white mask and exaggerated updo ensuring she retained the 'eccentric' tag.
Going goth
