Celebrating Holi at Fashion Week

Inspired by the Festival of Colours, designer duo Shyamal and Bhumika brought a riot of hues and garments to the LFW runway on Day One. Here's a glimpse.

The show was off to a fun start, with all the models taking to the ramp in colourful clothing, the powders of Holi dotting everyone's faces. How's that for a different way of doing things?

Starting off solo

Then came each creation one at a time -- first up, a voluminous sack dress, decorated with handprints and a bib neckline.

Grainy effect

Seen here is a male model in relaxed organic pants and a multi-grained kurta.

Swirling and twirling

A gregarious spherical motif maxi swirls and twirls cheerfully on the runway.

Dare to bare

Orange dhoti pants are teamed with a colourful choli-style bikini -- quite an eye-catcher!

Going formal

Nicole Faria strikes a pose in an orange cocktail powdered with yellow.

Paling palette

The designers lighten up a little to pale yellow and dotted earthy tones with this wispy draped number

Short 'n' sweet

Sexy black and sequinned meets orange, red and green swirls -- great combo!
