Best of LFW resortwear: Sexy summer coolers!

Resortwear took the bold and beautiful route at the recently Lakme Fashion Week -- swimwear, bikini tops and hotpants ruled the runway as models dared to bare and put fabulously toned figures on display. So with the mercury rising, here's a look at some of the sexiest summer coolers seen on the catwalk!

First up we have this yummy one-piece by designer duo Shrivan Narresh, who showcased a collection of strictly swimsuits and beachwear. The zipper up the front allows you to control skinshow and the diagonal patterning flatters your curves.

Sporty but feminine

Model Surelee Joseph strutted her stuff in a hot checkered swimsuit for Shantanu & Nikhil's Adidas showing -- the garments from this line were primarily sporty, but this one is definitely on the sexier side!

Peek-a-boo effect

The lovely Lisa Haydon strutted her stuff in a green string bikini and sheer cover-up for Anupama Dayal -- the overall peek-a-boo effect was very attractive.

Taut and toned

Shyamal and Bhumika put an edge on this creation by teaming up loose dhoti pants with a stunning multi-hued bikini top that exposes the midriff.

Cut-away couture

Designer Malini Ramani presented a lot of swimwear too, like this eye-catching cut-away bandhini, with a tasselled sarong toning it down by just a tad!

Day at the beach

The accessories showing also saw its fair share of beachwear. Sonali Dalwani opted to showcase her Crimzon accessories collection against outfits like this aqua bikini top, worn underneath striking white overalls.

Pink shocker

At the LFW grand finale, a number of sassy, dare-to-bare ensembles made their way onto the ramp courtesy Suneet Varma, not the least of which was this high-cut fuschia and zigzag halter, set off by a wide belt.

Boho chic

Masaba Gupta experimented with mix and match techniques to create looks like this boho bikini-shorts-fedora combo.

Down to a minimum

A sparkling, metallic bikini by Dayal sets off a nip-tuck skirt and sleeveless overlay -- definitely a sizzler!

Gorgeous gold

Carol Gracias showed off her flat abs in an all-gold emsemble by Manish Malhotra, consisting of a monokini, silk shorts and perma-pleated flowing jacket.

Perfect ten

Another of Ramani's black and white scorchers modelled by Lisa sends the temperature soaring. What a bod!

Poolside plush

Keep it classic in all-black, topped with colourful accessories, like this outfit teamed with Dalwani's butterfly neckpiece.

Higher and higher!

Black and yellow by Shantanu and Nikhil for Adidas come to the fore once more, this time on unbelievably tiny hotpants, balanced off by an easy-fit, trendy zippered top.

Form-fitting funk

It wasn't necessarily the bikinis and swimsuits that were the sexiest to parade at fashion week -- check out this neon mini by Swapnil Shinde.

African inspiration

Diandra Soares dominated the runway at Ramani's show in this sensual animal-print kaftan and matching two-piece, with decidedly African overtones.

One-shouldered verve

Once again, a black zig-zag cut swimsuit with see-through sarong highlights accessories.

Wrappin' around

Shrivan Narresh use a gorgeous silk wrap to emphasis a hint of leg at their resortwear presentation.

Taking the plunge

Bright, summery stripes on green show off this pale Dayal bikini from underneath a plunging neckline.

Shimmer 'n' shine

It's likely Lisa was the favourite model when it came to skimpy outfits, thanks to her smashing good looks and figure. She is seen here in an Asmita Marwa shimmering bikini top, worn over palazzo pants and a casual tie-up blouse.

Eye-candy for the ladies!

And finally, a little eye-candy for the ladies! As is obvious from this hunk in trunks and tee by Shantanu and Nikhil, not all the sexy numbers were restricted to womenswear at Lakme Fashion Week!
