We invited readers to send in their favourite travel pic -- that one photograph that perfectly captures the beauty of a place they visited. And we have been inundated with stunning pics of every corner of India.

Arnab Ganguly sends in this photograph taken at Aliyar Dam in Pollachi near Coimbatore in 2006.

"It had just stopped raining and the clouds were receding," he says. "A beautiful sight to witness."

"This was taken by my friend Dr. Aathira during her trip to Orissa. She said the lake was like heaven, where tranquility took form in the stillness of the water," he shares.

"This picture is of the sunrise over the upper and lower lake of Bhopal. One can see the beautiful rays of the morning sun cast their magic on the lake creating a breathtaking view."

Mayur Gangrade sends this photo of the Dudhsagar waterfall.

"When you enter Goa from Karnataka by train, a glimpse of this waterfall gives a peace to heart," he says.

Pondicherry


This pic was taken on a trip to Pondicherry in January 2009," shares Gopi P. "The sun was just rising and the entire horizon was bathed in a pinkish hue. It was pure magic watching the sunrise. The temperature was just about perfect and it was a perfect start to a fun-filled day."
