We invited you to send in unique summer-themed photographs -- odd scenes that are captured on a lens for posterity -- to share with other readers. Here is the first set of responses!
First up is this pic from Rathijeet K Bala from Rewa in MP. "This photo was taken in Bhedaghat, Jabalpur," he informs us. Looks pretty dangerous!
Share your interesting summer snapshots with us! They could be from anywhere across India or the world, but they have to be original.
Simply e-mail your photographs to getahead@rediff.co.in (subject line: 'Unusual summer pics') -- we'll publish the most interesting ones right here. And make sure to include a little-write up of where you clicked the snap.

Abhinav Sethi sent in this snapshot of heavy rain through a car window. "Nothing like a rainstorm on a hot summer day," he says. "I took this picture while travelling from Chandigarh to Delhi. It was very hot when suddenly we were welcomed by rain."
Hey, animals need to cool off more than we do sometimes! Ramola Paulrajan e-mailed in this one, taken at the Anna University Campus in Chennai. "The monkey was having ice cream to cool off from the summer heat," she explains.
Next we have this pic from Nalini Jagnat Kudalkar. "This snap was taken by my boss when we visited Kerala last summer," she says. "I think the bird is just contemplating whether the water in the fountain will be hot or what! In the zoos, animals suffer more than humans if not taken proper care of."
And finally, we have this sweet photograph from Jyoti Gulati, who says that her daughter, seen here, sneaked into the bathroom and climbed into a bucket of water to beat the heat!
