Poll: Do these celebs give you a headache?

Last updated on: May 4, 2010 18:30 IST

Pain-relief medical brand Nurofen held a fun poll last week asking people which Hollywood celebs induce their headaches! Here are those who featured on the list, plus a few Indian famous faces that seem to bring on a similar negative reaction -- vote at the bottom of each page and let us know what you think!

Paris Hilton

No prizes for guessing who topped the Nurofen poll!

Miss Hilton is the embodiment (and a rather skinny one at that!) of rich, blonde and not-too-bright. The bubblehead heiress is always in the news thanks to her endless shenanigans, love life and molehill-blown-to-mountain controversies, which conveniently occur in full view of the papparazi.

But what does she actually do -- act, sing, design? Guess what, like, nobody knows!

Rakhi Sawant

Speaking of needless controversy -- close on Paris' heels (with maybe more talent and a lot less of the silver spoon syndrome) is our very own desi drama queen.

Opinionated, loud-mouthed and constantly courting the limelight, Rakhi is sure to bring on a knocking in your noggin' if you're subjected to her in large doses!

Katie Price

Photographs: Luke MacGregor/Reuters

UK glamour model Katie Price, aka Jordan was second on the phoren list. She's constantly thinking up new ways to stay in the news, mostly going the tried-and-tested reality TV route.

But she has branched out into other avenues too, like contesting the British General Elections in 2001, for instance -- her slogan was 'For a Bigger and Betta Future' and she promised free breast implants, more nudist beaches and a ban on parking tickets.

Sherlyn Chopra

Another glamour model-turned-reality star closer to home, Sherlyn is now trying to forge a 'serious career' for herself. That includes assaulting our eardrums with her attempts at singing. We'd rather just ogle at her in a bikini!

Amy Winehouse

Photographs: Kieran Doherty/Reuters

Now here's someone who can sing -- and really well too. But that's only between booze-fuelled binges and punching every fan who takes the risk of getting within arm's length of her.

The dubious honour of third position on the head-ache roll went to Amy Winehouse, whose surname, as comedian Russell Brand so aptly put it, sounds increasingly like the state of her liver.

Himesh Reshammiya

Photographs: Reuben V

Another crooner who's just, well, annoying when he's not singing!

Himeshbhai can sway the masses when it comes to music, but when it comes to trying to become a Bollywood 'hero', we're not swayed, we're shaken. And not in a good way. What's more, he's nearly retired from singing in favour of acting -- talk about career harakiri.

Ashley Cole

Photographs: Dan Chung/Reuters

After allegedly cheating on his missus, Cheryl Cole, five times, it's not surprising that this young footballer is in the doghouse with both her and the public.

And to think Sheryl was voted most beautiful woman in the world by FHM magazine last week for the second year running -- a hubby like that would give us a headache too! Ashley makes it to Number Four.

Rahul Mahajan

Photographs: Still from Bigg Boss Season 3

Speaking of casanovas, erstwhile eligible bachelor (yes, more than a few women seemed to think so, don't ask us why) Rahul Mahajan is newly off the marriage market after committing to a life partner in the most touching, genuine way possible -- on reality TV. Is anybody else hopeful that we'll be seeing a little (okay, a lot) less of him for awhile?

No such luck -- the latest stunt involved wife Dimpy testing his loyalty on reality show Emotional Atyachar, which some people say was rigged. Anything for the limelight!

Tiger Woods

Photographs: Hans Deryk/Reuters

And of course, who can leave out Tiger Woods, whose numerous affairs outside of his marriage have created enough tabloid fodder to scale Mount Everest? He's the fifth most likely celeb to give people a headache -- and he doesn't need to use his golf clubs to do it.

Vindu Dara Singh

Photographs: Rediff Archives

All brawn, no brain -- there's really no other way to describe Vindu.

After putting everyone in a tizzy with his crazy (read mental asylum-worthy) behaviour on reality series Bigg Boss, what was really crazy was that he actually won!

And now he's judging a new dance show on TV; it's probably just a matter of time before he turns on the waterworks there too! Noooooo!

Navjot Singh Siddhu

Photographs: Still from The Great Indian Circus

We'll concede that he's witty at times, but if Siddhu started taking a breath or two between sentences, it would give us a chance to pop the earplugs out for a bit. Unfortunately, that doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon -- so let's hear it for the guy who invented the 'mute' button on the TV remote!

Mamata Banerjee

Photographs: Parth Sanyal/Reuters

Say hello to Miss Pleasant Personality 2010.

Have you ever seen this lady crack a smile? The day she does, you can be sure that it'll be time to head for the hills. Frowning and whining are Miss Banerjee's forte -- we defy you to outdo her in the I'm-more-dissatisfied-than-you department.

Anu Malik

Photographs: Pradeep Bandekar

He thinks he's India's answer to Simon Cowell, but the truth is he should throw in the towel. Anu Malik's over-inflated ego and attitude are so over the top, he probably wears that style-killing cap just to ensure his head doesn't swell anymore than it already has.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra

Photographs: Pradeep Bandekar

Feuds with the media, Chetan Bhagat, SRK, Sonu Nigam -- here's another loud and opinionated celeb who doesn't know when to clam up. Known to lose his cool at the drop of a hat, we think Vidhu should recreate 3 Idiots with just two lead roles -- for himself and Anu Malik.

The IPL controversy

Now we know this poll is about headache-inducing celebs, but nothing gave us more of a migraine than the recent IPL controversy and everyone involved.

Tharoor, Modi, the BCCI, IPL team owners -- man, with all the muck flying about and incessant news coverage, we're just about ready to pop a pill!

The Sania-Shoaib wedding

Photographs: TV9

And speaking of controversy -- even though he was not playing the IPL, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik and his newly-minted missus Sania Mirza were able to stir up as much of a hornet's nest with their recent nuptials. First marriage, divorce, fraud, gatecrashed receptions -- give us a break already!
