Unusual summer pics: Rainbow down the valley!

We invited you to send in unique summer-themed photographs -- odd scenes that are captured on a lens for posterity -- to share with other readers. Here is the first set of responses!

First up is this unique pic from Chirag Bogra, of the Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat, near Shimla. "Amazing natural views, lovely hills and unbelievable weather are enough to describe our campus," he says. We agree!

Pradipta Sankar Maiti from Singapore sent in this unique photograph in which the deer seem tame enough to be stroked and petted.

Victims of a cruel summer


We received this image from Nilay Paliwal, who says that the "dried up tree and thirsty birds seem to hang on together in a gesture of solidarity."

Burning sky


Rohan Kale sent in this image he captured in Lonavla. "I clicked this pic from my house at Old Khandala Road early in the morning when the sun was rising," he explains. "It looked like the whole sky was burning!"

And finally, we have Baudhayan Lahiri's snapshot of "pigeons enjoying a bath at a road construction site in Charkop, Mumbai."
