Online fashion retailers OffersSupermarket.co.uk conducted a poll to determine the 'most iconic outfit of the last 50 years'. Here are the results!
1. Geri Halliwell's Union Jack dress
This dress, worn by the former Spice Girl to the Brit Awards in 1997 has topped the list. And what's more, it was Halliwell's own creation.
"Everybody remembers the moment Geri hit the stage in that dress," the Daily Express quoted Eve Atkins of OffersSupermarket.co.uk as saying.
"The dress made everybody feel patriotic, plus she looked amazing. It was simply a tea towel sewed onto a dress, with no designer involved," Atkins added.

2. Elizabeth Hurley's Versace safety-pin dress

Mrs Arun Nayar is known for her plunging preferences on the red carpet, as is apparent from this pic.
But the Versace gown that made Hurley an overnight star was the one she wore to the 1994 premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral -- and it was held together with nothing but gold safety pins (view it at http://tinyurl.com/28avdxg).
3. Marilyn Monroe's white dress from The Seven Year Itch

No list of iconic outfits would be complete without '50s blonde bombshell Monroe's white halterneck, which blew up to her waist while she was filming for the movie The Seven Year Itch in New York.
4. Audrey Hepburn's LBD from Breakfast at Tiffany's

Closely following on Monroe's heels at Number Four is another Hollywood legend, Audrey Hepburn -- the little black dress she wore with a string of pearls in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's is still in style today.
5. Lady Gaga's white ensemble at the Brit Awards

You never know what the eccentric popster will show up in next. But this tiered Francesco Scognamiglio dress and matching pompadour wig certainly set tongues wagging at the Brit Awards in February this year and has undoubtedly created a lasting impression -- good or bad, you decide!
6. Diana, Princess of Wales' wedding dress

The late princess' marriage into royalty ended in disaster, but her wedding -- and wedding dress -- were certainly the stuff of dreams. The magnificent white gown she donned on the occasion was the work of David and Elizabeth Emanuel.
7. Kylie Minogue's gold hotpants
Photographs: Still from Spinning Around
Remember the pop diva's 2000 comeback video, Spinning Around? Chances are, you mainly remember the teensy weensy gold shorts she donned in it -- they made it to seventh place in the iconic outfits poll.
8. Jennifer Lopez's sheer green Versace dress

Versace makes it to the top 10 twice and the second time around, it's for this barely-there wisp of a dress that JLo donned for the Grammy Awards back in 2000. It was slit all the way down -- and up -- to the navel!
9. Bjork's swan dress

Known for her non-conformist attitude when it comes both to music and fashion, Icelandic singer Bjork created quite a stir at the Oscars in 2001, when she showed up in this creation by Macedonian designer Marjan Pejoski. She made it to Number Nine in the poll.
