Unusual summer pics: Casting for fish!

Last updated on: May 26, 2010 13:23 IST

We invited you to send in unique summer-themed photographs -- odd scenes that are captured on a lens for posterity -- to share with other readers. Here is the first set of responses!

Prasun Sanyal from New Delhi sent in this snap. "I have taken it in my village," he explains. "This boy was casting for fish and I waited for the moment when he threw the net into the air."

Share your interesting summer snapshots with us! They could be from anywhere across India or the world, but they have to be original.

Simply e-mail your photographs to getahead@rediff.co.in (subject line: 'Unusual summer pics') -- we'll publish the most interesting ones on rediff.com and in India Abroad. And make sure to include a little-write up of where you clicked the snap.

Remember, the theme is summer, so your photograph has to gel with the season. Hurry and send in your entry today!

Next we have this pretty pic shot by Prince Ravat in Mahableshwar's in Mapro Garden. Don't the dew drops hanging off the leaf look like glistening diamonds?

Next we have this entry from Ankit Agrawal, of flamingoes at the Nakuru National Park, Kenya. They make for a placid summer pic, wading and feeding in the summer sun.

Amit Jadhav from Mumbai also enjoys the offerings of Mahabaleshwar. "During a recent visit, we came across a strawberry farmer ferrying his fresh farm produce to the local market," he says. "These bright red and very sweet berries made for a very good photo subject under the hot summer sun."

And here we have a photograph from Saurav Bhattacharya. "This is a picture of the sun setting in over the Dhakuria Lake in Kolkata," he explains. "The most suitable caption would be 'ekla cholo re'."
