Sanjeev Vyas from New Delhi sent in this snap. "I shot it earlier this month in the mountains of Dhanolti, just ahead of the popular hill resort of Mussoorie in Uttarakhand, he explains. "Summer temperatures are rising even in the upper reaches of the mountains and this bird of prey seemed to be looking out for a shaded meadow as its perch."
"With this picture I want to share the message that each one of us should do whatever we can to reduce global warming and to keep our fabulous planet liveable for humans and for our friends that we share it with."

Soaking up a little sun
This next one was sent in by Amit Jadhav, who says, "This lily seems to be welcoming the sun's rays."
Slice of freshness
This refreshing image was sent in by Aakar Rastogi, who says, "Whether in the form of sweet lemonade or in bath water, lemons cool us in extreme summers when the mercury touches 42-43 degrees. Photography is my hobby, which gave me the idea of clicking this picture keeping summer in mind, with the objective of having a cooling psychological effect."
Urban summer twilight
Nilesh Sawant from Singapore sent in this image. "It's 12 months of summer in Singapore and I clicked this snap from my balcony," he says. It certainly captures the urban summer twilight perfectly!
Doggie guests at a restaurant!
And finally, here's one from Anirudha Borkar. "This was taken at Forrest, an open-air restaurant in Panaji, Goa," she explains. "These dogs were queuing up for a sip of water from a decorative pond at the restaurant!"
