The Indian wedding season has begun and to mark the beginning of the season, some of the country's top designers showed their bridal collections at the first ever Aamby Valley India Bridal Week in Mumbai.
We take a look at what the opening days had in store -- Manish Arora, Rocky S, Nisha Sagar, Anjali and Arjun Kapoor and Neeta Lulla. Adding to the glam factor were B-town beauties -- Dia Mirza, Kangana Ranaut, Shriya Saran and Urmila Matondkar.
First up was Manish Arora with a retrospective show featuring some of the designer's most accliamed creations over 2008-1010. Never one to stick to the conventional, Arora's designs were bright, extravagant and true to his style.

Russian ruffle
Image: A Rocky S creation. Not the most traditional bridal outfit, this black velvet jacket over a layered slim skirt is pretty though.
The designer chose embellishments keeping in mind the bridal season, so matte sequins, resham, ghara work, sequin sheeting fur, crystal brooches, gold French lace, intricate cord and zardozi work lent the creations an opulent look.
