Unusual monsoon pics: Monkeying around!

We invited you to send in unique rain-themed photographs -- odd scenes that are captured on a lens for posterity -- to share with other readers. Here are some more responses!

First up is this one of from Pawan Rakhe, shot in Lonavala during the rains. "It was around 2 pm in the afternoon and chilly," he says. Which is probably why this monkey was leaping along to keep warm!

Rajkumar CP says this photograph of his reminds him of the movie Independence Day. "It was shot at Ascendas IT Park in Taramani, Chennai," he explains. Those dark clouds certainly seem to be descending upon the city in a frightening manner!

Vinothkumar Gopal e-mailed in this pic, shot at a rain forest-themed restaurant when he visited with his mates.

Ravi Darda of Bangalore sent in this one, stating, "I was on holiday in Goa 2-3 weeks ago. It was raining heavily, which gave me a chance to take some pictures of the monsoon. I shot this one at a Goan Restaurant, Eatopia."

And finally, Shahab Shakeel contributed this cute image, sating, "An elephant mahout took this picture of us on a rainy day in Thekkedey, Kerala, while we were on a elephant ride through the jungle." Too bad the umbrella couldn't accomodate the pachyderm!
