On the eve of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2010, ace designer Narendra Kumar presented his collection titled 'Sounds of Mumbai'.
Kumar, who celebrated the 10th anniversary of his label, had a special off-site showing at the Tote OnThe Turf lounge bar. The vast show area was converted into bogies of a Mumbai local with the ramp having impressions of train tracks. In keeping with the theme, the ushers were dresses as coolies with red shirts and white topis.
The designer, through his collection, paid tribute to the women of Mumbai, their spirit of resilience, confidence and resolute drive.

Short 'n' sweet
Drawing inspiration from the city's diversity and vibrance, Kumar presented a loungewear line with day and evening looks in an elegant neutral colour palette of beige, cream and okra, with subtle accents of lavender, coral and marigold.
Seen here is a pretty cocktail dress with bright orange bodice and box-pleat skirt.

Frill thrill
Sleek silhouettes
Bold in black
Clean lines and utility prevailed in the work-wear inspired looks, while hand detail finishing preserved the luxe element. All through the line was a distinct and skilfully-constructed silhouette, soft draping combined with precision tailoring characteristic of the designer.
